Rancho Los Alamitos - Historic Preservation Architecture - ARG

Imagine relocating four historic barns onto new foundations in new locations (ones that reflect their original configuration) without harming historically significant trees or losing the structures in the process. It was a sliding puzzle of logistics, guided by ARG’s research and design for restoring this multi-layered historical site.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Rancho Los Alamitos is twice listed on the National Register of Historic Places – once as Poyuu’ngna, the traditional birthplace of the native people of the Los Angeles Basin and, second, for the evolution of its significant historic landscape over time.
