Design Guidelines
Incorporating historic preservation goals and strategies into a larger vision plan or policy document fosters appreciation of an area’s heritage and informs short- and long-term strategies for the preservation of historical resources. ARG has assisted municipalities, environmental planning consultants, urban design consultants, land development corporations, and community groups in the preparation or review of design guidelines for historic environments, from citywide guidelines to neighborhood or resource-type specific. With a deep understanding of the historic built environment, architectural design, and regulatory processes, ARG’s design guidelines are always accessible, graphically compelling, and easy to understand and implement.
