PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION LEADERS
This year, several ARG staff have taken active roles in professional organizations dedicated to historic preservation and conservation.
Katie Horak
Congratulations to ARG Principal Katie Horak for being elected President of Docomomo US! Katie has been on the board of directors of Docomomo US for five years and was co-founder of the Southern California chapter. Docomomo US documents and advocates for the preservation of modern architecture throughout the country. We are proud of Katie’s ongoing leadership in the modern architecture and design community and her continued commitment to the important work of Docomomo US.

STAFF PROMOTIONS
ARG is proud to recognize several staff with promotions for their continued dedication and hard work. Our staff and their professional development are at the heart of our firm’s continued success. Congratulations to all!
Jon Rusch
Based in ARG’s Portland office, Jon has been elevated to Associate. He is a Preservation Planner with more than a decade of experience supporting complex documentation, evaluation, environmental compliance, and planning projects for historic buildings and landscapes. His areas of expertise include cultural landscape documentation, post World War II resources, creative mitigation strategies, as well as socially and culturally significant sites.
Morgan Quirk
An Architectural Historian and Geographic Information Specialist, Morgan specializes in data and mapping analysis, with particular interests in cultural heritage and representation. She has been promoted to Associate. In addition to geospatial analysis, her planning experience includes Determinations of Eligibility and Historic Structure Reports; local and National Register Nominations; Historic Resource Evaluation reports; HABS documentation; historic contexts; and historic resources surveys. Morgan has been a key staff member in the Portland office since 2021.
Angelo Aparicio
Starting in our Los Angeles office as an Administrative Assistant in 2022, Angelo has been promoted to Office and Marketing Coordinator. He will be taking on more responsibility at the firm, continuing to provide administrative and office operations support while also producing ARG’s social media content and collaborating on proposals.
NEW STAFF
Lastly, we’d like to welcome Senior Designer Scott Severson to our Los Angeles architecture team.
Scott Severson
Scott comes to ARG with over seventeen years of experience spanning all phases of the building design process. His previous projects include the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on the LACMA campus, the Timken Museum of Art, the Old Globe Theater, the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, and various projects within the education sector. We are excited to have Scott as part of our architecture team.
