Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission Votes on Barbershop to become a Historic-Culural Monument

Last week, Los Angeles’ Cultural Heritage Commission unanimously voted for Stylesville, one of San Fernando Valley’s oldest Black-owned barber shops, to become a Historic-Cultural Monument!

Greg Faucett, the original owners’ grandson, hoped to get the shop designated for his grandmother. ARG is nominating properties for the Los Angeles African American Historic Places project, which is identifying, preserving, and celebrating African American heritage in the city.
