As Principal of ARG’s Los Angeles office, Katie is a dynamic and respected leader in the architecture, planning and land use community. She is an acknowledged authority on national and regional historic preservation standards, policy, and legal frameworks, with particular expertise in treatment and documentation methods. Clients trust Katie to develop sensitive, creative preservation solutions and to guide projects effectively and seamlessly through regulatory processes and approvals. Katie teaches graduate-level courses in historic resource documentation at USC’s School of Architecture and is a frequent speaker at conferences and universities across the country. She has pursued her interest in modern-era built heritage as Founding President of Docomomo’s Southern California chapter and is currently President of Docomomo US. Katie’s love of art and modern architecture has guided her travels around the globe, although one of her happiest places is on a kayak in the Santa Monica Bay.
