Kingscote Gardens
Constructed in 1917 as an apartment building, Kingscote Gardens was designed to emulate an English manor house and is surrounded by an English garden landscape. The building was designed by the prominent San Francisco firm, Julius Krafft and Sons.
Stanford University looked to ARG to convert Kingscote Gardens from a residential building into an office and meeting space for faculty, staff, and student counseling services.
The design sought to retain the key features of the historic structure while creating safe spaces for counseling activities, providing a high degree of acoustic separation, and integrating multiple shared conference spaces for the counseling related training activities.
